HeyAlex SMS Opt-In & Consent
What HeyAlex is
HeyAlex is a personal capture assistant you use by text message. You text one number anything on your mind and HeyAlex saves it to your account as a reminder, idea, task, or calendar event, and files hashtagged to-dos into Lists. Everything is also viewable in the web app.
How consent is collected
- The person creates a HeyAlex account with their email address.
- On the onboarding screen they enter their own mobile number. The consent disclosure below is displayed verbatim directly beneath the phone number field, above the “Text me a code” button.
- Tapping “Text me a code” sends a single 6-digit verification code to that number. Entering the code correctly confirms they own the number and completes a double opt-in.
No messages are sent to unverified numbers, and no numbers are ever uploaded, purchased, or added on someone else's behalf.

Message types
- One-time verification codes used to confirm number ownership.
- Capture confirmations sent in direct reply to a text the user sent in (for example, “✅ Reminder set: call the vet — tomorrow 3:00 PM”).
- Confirmations for to-dos and lists the user texts in.
- Reminder alerts for reminders the user scheduled themselves.
HeyAlex never sends marketing, promotional, or third-party messages.
Opt-out and help
Reply STOP at any time to cancel all messages, or HELP for help. Users can also remove their phone number in the app's Settings screen, which ends all messaging immediately. Message frequency varies based on usage. Msg & data rates may apply.
